Quilt Show 2007

These are some of the quilts from last year.... i just found a klimt kiss quilt that was submitted for judging last year... how disappointing... it was done by a woman in camden right down the road from here.... it looks like it received honorable mention.... i'm bummed. well, at least mine is twice as big... and mine is more "based on" than this one...

oops, i started writing this post to let everyone know what a fantastic time i had at the quilt show, and then got majorly distracted by the kiss quilt that someone else made.... anyway, it was awesome... we looked at all the quilts on display and looked at all the shops.... we even looked at an "art bra" display which was hysterical and saw antique quilts that were very interesting.... and the lady there to answer our questions was insightful... ;) anyway, it was a great day! Harry Potter 7

For those of you who are my myspace friends you already know that i finished harry potter 7 in 16 hours (straight) and loved every moment of it... i applaud jkrowling's writing and genius at bringing all the details and mysteries together for a series that so many people have fallen in love with.... it is a tremendous feat and it has been executed so well... bravo, ms. rowling, bravo.... and i am reading it again now... this time a little more slowly and deliberately.... and i am enjoying it again... i am sad to see the series end, but am looking forward to new books by jkrowling...

ugliest dog in the world

Poor Sam; he is the ugliest dog in the world. you know, i am not a huge fan of dogs, but this one haunts my nightmares.... every once in a while my friend karen and i like to surprise each other with a funny picture as the background on our myspaceim.... this is one of my favorites to send her.... i thought this pic might brighten someone's day.... today, i thank God that i do not look like this even if somedays i feel like it!

wow, these girls are so cute! great pics, rose, thanks... i had an awesome day with karen yesterday and got a few new fabrics for another project i'm working on... a civil war reproduction quilt for jeff... i'm too too psyched for the harry potter movie coming out and i will be watching it at midnight! oh boy, oh boy!

Quilts, Harry Potter, and Cleaning

Welcome to my summer! Well, i am going with tab, curtis, stephanie, and sarah to Order of the Phoenix at midnight on Tuesday... i cannot wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i am working on another quilt (along with the aforementioned klimt kiss quilt - say that ten times fast); it is a scrappy log cabin... it is coming along and i like it a lot... i have 6 squares left to peice... anyway, i was pleased to see comments about the kiss quilt... thanks for reading and taking the time to drop a comment... xo

So, I've been working on this quilt for awhile now....

It is based on Gustav Klimt's The Kiss (I hope that is obvious...). I am trying all types of new techniques for this quilt; it is like nothing i have ever tried before... none of the detail is done yet and that will make a huge difference, but i'm psyched about the project so far! drop a comment...
UPDATE: even since i posted this 5 minutes ago, i have made changes... her face and feet are smaller... putting them next to each other makes a big difference in how i see them... weird.
